Twist For Life
As Gurutej explains so well in this video, twists help to release stiffness and de-stress our adrenal glands, so easily overcharged.
They also massage our internal organs and are very beneficial for our thymus gland, our defense center.
We can do twists by sitting or standing, providing that we keep our spine straight throughout the exercise.
There are additional benefits to the standing version of this exercise:
it burns the fat at the waist and re-activates blood circulation in the legs.
My advice: Open your legs as wide as the bent elbows, so that you create a firm base. Try not to bend your knees when twisting and not to stop abruptly. I usually find it more pleasant to slow down before stopping.
On an emotional level, as famous author Louise Hay explains, stiffness has to do with fixed opinions, stances and ideas. Such fixed opinions reveal a deep-seated fear of change, a desire to control what is inside and around us.
By releasing stiffness in our body, we re-learn to trust life and welcome change. The evolution of all the layers of our being (physical, rational, emotional and spiritual) depends on that.
Make this exercise a part of your daily routine and reap its amazing benefits!
Please Note: the exercises give their best results when they are practiced daily, holding the clear intention and heartfelt desire to change.
